On December 10th, 2020, the Institute of Development and Applied Economics (IDAE) – Hoa Sen University (HSU) collaborated with the International Society of Vietnam Economists (ISVE) and Center for Advanced Studies in Economics and Data Science (CASED) to organize the conference on Development and Applied Economics 2020, themed “Trade, Business, and Development Towards Sustainability”.
The conference took the form of an online discussion.
Due to the complicated situation of Covid-19, the conference took place both online and onsite. Attending the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dien - HSU President gave his welcoming remark and sent his gratitude to the scientists who have been of great help to IDAE in carrying out the event.

The advisory committee of the conference consisted of renowned specialists in the field of economics from France, Australia, America, British, Germany, Japan, Thailand and Viet Nam (Hoa Sen University). The organizers also approved 16 studies and picked out 6 to be presented, which were carried out by scholars from famous universities, namely Monash University (Australia), Nottingham University (England), Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand), University of Puget Sound (USA) as well as many universities in Viet Nam (Hoa Sen University, HCMC University of Economics, HCMC Banking University, University of Transport and Communications, Hanoi University of Architecture, Hue University, Van Lang University, HCMC Open University, etc.).
During the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Cuong (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France) led a discussion on the topic of: “Why does Productivity matter?” and Prof. Dr. Tran Nam Binh (University of New South Wales, Australia) with the discussion on the topic of “Exploring the opportunities for research collaboration between local and international researchers”.
Through the conference, the participated scientist got a chance to publish their studies and discuss the many aspects of Development and Applied Economics.
